Your data, handled like we'd want ours handled.
The short version: we collect what's needed to run your bookings, the business you book with sees it, Stripe handles your card, nobody sells anything to anyone, and you can delete your account whenever you like.
Who we are
Sable is a booking and payments platform for boarding kennels, catteries and pet businesses, operated by SABLE TECHNOLOGIES LTD, a company registered in Scotland (SC898562), registered office 5 South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh EH2 4AN, and registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (registration number ZC224846). For anything in this policy, email james@sable.vet. We are the data controller for the Sable platform; the kennels or cattery you book with is a separate controller of its own customer records.
What we collect
Your account details (name, email address, phone number). Your pets' profiles (name, breed, dietary needs, medication, vet details, vaccination records you upload). Your bookings (dates, services, prices, special instructions). Payment records (amounts, dates and card type — never card numbers; payments are processed by Stripe, who handle your card details under their own security certification). Basic technical logs needed to keep the service running securely.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data. We don't run advertising. We don't use tracking or advertising cookies — only the essential session cookie that keeps you logged in. We don't send marketing emails unless you've asked for them.
Why we process it
To run your bookings with the boarding business you choose (performance of a contract). To keep financial records we're legally required to keep (legal obligation). To send you service emails about your bookings — confirmations, check-in reminders, payment receipts (necessary to provide the service). To keep the platform secure (legitimate interests).
Who sees it
The kennels or cattery you book with sees your booking, contact details and your pets' profiles — that's the product working as intended. Our service providers process data on our instructions: Stripe (payments), Supabase (database hosting), Vercel (website hosting) and Microsoft (email). Nobody else, unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Your account and pet profiles: until you delete your account. Booking and payment records: 6 years after the tax year they relate to, because HMRC requires it — these are anonymised of everything not needed for the financial record. Uploaded vaccination documents: deleted with your account.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app (Account → Delete account), or by emailing james@sable.vet. Deletion removes your login, contact details, pet profiles and uploaded documents. Financial records of past bookings are kept in anonymised form for the legally required period.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, delete it, or transfer it, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email james@sable.vet and we'll respond within a month. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll tell account holders by email before the change takes effect. This version was published on 12 August 2026.
